Up above Todmorden there is a rocky outcrop called Rive Rocks. They have sat there for ever - long ago there was a stone age settlement just below them and it got me thinking about places. It was a good choice, the view is lovely, and I guess long ago it was safer than in the valley.
What I love about the rocks is the skyline, watching the clouds roll across the moorland and tumble into the valley, it is a constant picture of change but a constant picture of familiarity, the interaction of change and stasis makes it a perfect place to sit and think.
