Easter musings
It has been a very tranquil Easter break. I haven't had much time recently to stop and ponder and this Easter has been great to do just that. Picture the scene...Here I am sitting in the yard, mug of tea and a biscuit. Sun intermittently shining through a moderately clear sky. Peace and quiet at last! But no...there is the sound of a woodpecker. Within seconds I am actually listening very hard to the sound of a woodpecker because the noise is quite alarming - how on earth does it manage to bombard its skull so regularly and not suffer the fate of a heavyweight boxing champion? Then there is another much more soothing sound of the woodpidgeon, punctuated by one of the chickens who has laid an egg. Then a robin, then a blackbird, then the songthrush. Aaagh its all too noisy, Im going inside for some peace and quiet.
